Making A Plan to Achieve Your Goals

Once you’ve figured out a bit more about yourself, you can start to make a plan 📋

  1. What’s a plan?

A plan is a list of steps to get you from point A to point B, or to get something you want 🏁

It’s your way to achieve your goals or objectives.

A goal could be choosing your best subjects to continue studying at school, winning a competition, getting a job, learning a skill, or starting your own business.

What’s your #1 goal for this year? 🎯

Having a plan makes it easier for you to focus and work towards achieving your goals.

2. What do you need to make a plan?

First, you need to set your goal (see #1 above).

Your goal can be anything from making more friends to eating healthier, becoming a doctor, business-owner, mechanic, footballer, or musician 🥅

It could also be something you really want to experience, such as travelling the world, doing voluntary work, being part of a team, or climbing a mountain! 🏔

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Where am I starting from right now?

This could be the stage you’re at in school, your qualifications, skills, and talents.

  • What options do I have?

This depends on a) your goal, and b) your plan. There’s always more than one way to achieve a goal; it’s just a matter of exploring which way works best for you.

  • What do I need to make my plan happen?

If you’ve got the information and/or skills you need, then all you need to do is start putting your plan into action. And if you don’t, there will always be ways you can get them, so don’t let that hold you back 👍

Don’t worry if things don’t go according to plan; it’s normal for a plan to change & evolve!
