This is about you…

… but you may want to know about me and why I created this site 💭

I had my share of struggles when I was a teen too, so would like to help ⛑

It can be hard to find non-judgemental information and advice to help you figure out life as a teenager, despite there being lots of self-help and personal development stuff for adults!

So I decided to change that 💪

FiguringItOut features a growing collection of tips, tools and inspirational posts & podcasts to help you figure out and make the most of being a teen.

Everything you read, watch, or listen to on FIO, whether mine or a recommendation, is created or selected based on my years of supporting teenagers in different roles and programmes, including:

·         Youth camps, charities, and activity clubs

·         Colleges & universities

·         Distance learning providers

·         Educational communication companies

I’ve supported hundreds of teenagers and young adults, in the UK and USA, to develop self-confidence, team work skills, environmental awareness, sporting skills, career and business knowledge 💡

Growing and evolving is part of our journey through life; change is constant, especially when you’re a teenager!

Personally, I have been a nerd, an employer, straight, gay, an outsider, a teammate, a “failure”, trainee, instructor, winner, business owner, manager, mentor, coach, leader, competitor, supporter, entrepreneur, investor, employee and educator.

I’m currently responsible for Admissions, Access & UK Recruitment at the University of Glasgow. I am also an Enterprise Mentor for The Princes' Trust, the UK's leading charity helping young people to develop key skills whilst boosting their confidence and motivation.

However, FIO is my personal project, unrelated to any organisation. If you’d like to know more, please drop me a line

I look forward to hearing from you!
